Review
Gray's Anatomy for students...comes with colourful diagrams, and...readable text. The book is separated by region, and at the end of each chapter is surface anatomy and a few clinical cases. Scattered around the book are boxes entitled 'In the Clinic', which gives useful information like locating pulses... A good clinical focus.
MAD magazine, the official journal of Barts and The London Students'Association
An easy to understand anatomy text book, with clear use of terminology and explanatory diagrams which is every medical students dream, and this can be found within the snazzy coverings of Gray's Anatomy for Student's. The strongest feature of this book is quite simply the way it's been written. This is a brilliant resource for medical students as the text takes the reader from the basics slowly but then reaches the more detailed anatomy. The diagrams are excellent. Gray's Anatomy for Student's is excellent. It is well laid out, clear, with good use of colour and some really nice features. It is a great book that should be an essential on every medical students reading list, as it does make learning anatomy feel easy. Edinburgh Medics, a Res Medica supplement courtesy of the Royal Medical Society, July 2005
This textbook provides a different approach to the introduction and detailed study of human anatomy accompanied by a collection of detailed and very informative illustrations. Faculty teaching anatomy in different health related disciplines looking for alternatives to the current standard textbooks should seriously consider this new edition.

Book Description:
Respiratory system and artificial ventilation are key topics when considering the main aspects of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine: assisted ventilation techniques are essential to preserve the patients life, but just as any other treatments they can be also extremely pernicious.
Scientific research and clinical evidences are equally fundamental in investigating the best methods to provide effective support and increase positive outcomes. It is obviously desirable that this knowledge and know-how are widely shared among scientists and practitioners.
With this purpose, the book includes contributions by an international panel of authors and gathers their varied and valuable expertise up to illustrate principles, study results and case experiences on respiratory physiopathology, respiratory mechanics, respiratory functions monitoring, artificial ventilation and diagnostic radiology in respiratory dysfunction failure.
We trust it can represent a precious reference for professionals in their ongoing self-improvement process to increase skilfulness. Furthermore, we hope that this book can serve as a useful learning tool for medical students and can contribute to the education of future anaesthesiologists and intensivists.

Adrenaline and the Inner World: An Introduction to Scientific Integrative Medicine
Product Details:
»Book Publisher: The Johns Hopkins University Press (08 February, 2006)
»ISBN: 0801882893
»Book author: David S. Goldstein
»Amazon Rating: 5.
Book Description:
This accessible work is the first in more than seventy-five years to discuss the many roles of adrenaline in regulating the “inner world” of the body. David S. Goldstein, an international authority and award-winning teacher, introduces new concepts concerning the nature of stress and distress across the body’s regulatory systems. Discussing how the body’s stress systems are coordinated, and how stress, by means of adrenaline, may affect the development, manifestations, and outcomes of chronic diseases, Goldstein challenges researchers and clinicians to use scientific integrative medicine to develop new ways to treat, prevent, and palliate disease.
Goldstein explains why a former attorney general with Parkinson disease has a tendency to faint, why young astronauts in excellent physical shape cannot stand up when reexposed to Earth’s gravity, why professional football players can collapse and die of heat shock during summer training camp, and why baseball players spit so much.
Adrenaline and the Inner World is designed to supplement academic coursework in psychology, psychiatry, endocrinology, cardiology, complementary and alternative medicine, physiology, and biochemistry. It includes an extensive glossary.
